Foster a healthier, safer, and more supportive environment for immigrants, refugees, and other underserved and underrepresented communities. Our vision is to create a space where these individuals, families, and communities can thrive as engaged and productive members of our diverse society.
Our work
The SCIRCis a nonprofit 501(c)(3), multicultural, multilingual, community based and run organization dedicated to providing culturally competent, trauma-informed medical and mental health care for all under-resourced populations to thrive, serving immigrant communities at our core. Our home base is in San Diego, California.
Emerging as a direct action response to a need for underserved Arab-American & Muslim-American immigrant families and individuals in the San Diego area to have care free of charge, in their native languages, with culturally aware providers, we have rapidly and thoughtfully expanded with the same commitments to answer the urgent call to provide our newly arrived Ukrainian immigrants with the same high level medical and mental health care.
We have grown from grassroots volunteer and pro bono caregivers, including doctors, pharmacies, immigration legal counsel, and mental health therapists to a full service organization clients grow with and flourish.
SCIRC collaborates with local healthcare providers, legal professionals, and community organizations to ensure a comprehensive service network for the populations we serve.
